BRIDALS // Blush BHLDN Gown Warehouse Bridal Session | Emma. S.

It's so wonderful really.  I love what I do.  I love the people I get to know.  And I cannot believe so many truly beautiful humans have come to me and trusted me to capture such special moment's in their lives.  Sometimes when I am daydreaming, I will relive these sessions or events and the time I spend with brides, grooms, families, sisters, graduates, etc.  It plays like a movie reel, cutting in and out of different people's lives.  And then I realize I have this goofy grin on my face and a warm heart and soft pulse pumping through my bones.  I just feel so... honored.  Emma is honestly one of my favorite people I have ever met, and I truly CHERISH her friendship.  She and Ross were MARRIED a few weeks ago in Houston.  You know--that weekend that there was the HUGEST HURRICANE, LIKE, EVER??  And you know what?  This bride (in this gown) totally rolled with it.

NUPTIALS // Sunday Morning Wedding in the Trees | Kim + Cody in Austin, TX - The Sanctuary

Their wedding was the perfect representation of them.  The golden morning summer sun glinting through the tall trees that canopied over The Sanctuary left a palpable excitement in the air.  So many people love Cody and Kim, and many came together to contribute to the morning.  Paige and I co-shot the wedding together, which I always love (you can check out her blog post here).   Good coffee was brewing all morning by friends from Amaya Roasting, and the most amazing brunch I have ever attended was catered by Native Family.  The morning was almost quiet,  yet full of sound, smell, and beauty.  The day moved along with the cadence of a medieval ribbon dance—there was a rhythm that pulsed throughout the day, which moved along but was never rushed.  The florals and décor were all the cooperative effort of an equally creative community surrounding Kim and her family.  I am so thankful to have been asked to be a part of this day and to get to be there with Kim as she became Cody’s forever.  I will truly never forget it.

BRIDALS // Zen Garden Sunset Bridal Session with Lindsay M.

Lindsay is good, pure, righteous, and everything you hope your daughter grows up to be and the one you hope your son chooses to marry.  She is going to love Ben so well every single day.  She will stand by his side with reverent strength and fierce loyalty, and I cannot wait to see how that love is displayed on their wedding day.  She will be his queen and her golden bronzed hair will be her crown.

ENGAGEMENTS // Heritage Park Evening Exploring | Travis + Angela

It's the lover's secrets, sideways glances, and knowing touches that leave me lost in the moments I find through my lens.  These two are deeply appreciative of each other and their place in one another's lives, and that gratitude is displayed without hesitation.  They cherish their laughter, inside jokes, mutual hotness, and the general goodness of just being with your person.

BRIDALS // Houston Bride, Vegas Wedding | Shelly S.

In front of 120 family and friends that made it out to Vegas to celebrate these two, they wed, we ate, we danced, and we played.  It was a getaway for all of us, spending unlimited hours in each other's company and witnessing the inception of Austin and Shelly's life together as Silers.  The weekend was full--meeting up on the casino floor for late-night meals and a rendezvous in the city that never sleeps, poolside sips and endless conversations, brunches on patios in front of the singing fountains, 4-hour meals that seemed like minutes, and friends, friends, sweet piles of lifelong friends.

FAMILY // Heights Family Session | A babe, a boy, and his plane - The Borregos

Our time together was something like magical--the sun glinting through the tress and casting its speckled shadows; furniture out on the curb, whispering their stories as we passed; bright green grass reaching up from the ground, begging us to curl our toes across the lawn; and the air, hot but not consuming.  It felt like fall--the season of change and new beginnings.  My intention was that these photos somehow captured a bit of that.

NUPTIALS // Galveston Neutral Glam Bay Wedding | JEREMY + MASHA

ou know those weddings you know you will never forget?  Well, this was one of them.  Since I first met Masha (and realized we had like 5,000 of our favorite friends in common), I couldn't wait for their wedding.  Masha is the most loving, easy-going, darling little being I may have ever come to know.  And Jeremy is just one of the guys--cool, equally chill, and madly in love with his Masha.  The wedding was 100% about friends, family, food, good times and LOTS of dancing.  This is one of those dancing crowds that keep you grinning from ear to ear all night.

THE PROS AND CONS TO A POST-WEDDING SESSION //

These are my favorite.  You meet up at a location after your wedding and have something similar to an engagement session, but in your wedding attire!  You can go as simple, or as all out as you want with this!  Many brides are now electing to do Post-Wedding Session with their fiance/groom instead of the traditional bridal session.  Although the session will definitely be focused on both of you, we will also take some more traditional portraits of each of the Bride and Groom alone.  Brides will often do hair + makeup again, and even sometimes a bouquet.  We have brought decor from the wedding to the session to incorporate the wedding them in to the post-wedding session as well.  There are so many advantages to this approach, but there are a few items you may want to consider!
